Regional Institute of Science and Technology

The Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) was established in 2009 by a charitable trust namely ERD FOUNDATION. It is one of the technical colleges in the northeastern region. The college as well as all the courses are recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.) and affiliated to The North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya.[1] Regional Institute of Science & Technology was set up with an intention of providing an efficient system of education and to cater to the needs of technical manpower in the North-Eastern region of the country. The college now offers four year under graduate courses in Six disciplines, viz. Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology , Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Location

Located on hills of 9th Mile, opposite CRPF group centre, Khanapara, Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya. It is only 6 km (4 mi) from Dispur, the capital of Assam and 85 km (53 mi) from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.

The college is affiliated to North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), situated in Shillong, Meghalaya. The college as well as all the courses are recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.).

Admission

Candidates with valid AIEEE score can apply directly. Candidates not having AIEEE score can appear Common Entrance Test conducted by ERD Foundation. Also all the north eastern states has reserved seats for which candidates are selected by Director of Technical Education of the respective state.
